About State Charity
This year's state charity (chosen by state vice-president Westside Middle School) is The Pack Shack (www.thepackshack.org) This is an organization that provides meals for families in your area through "Feed the Funnel" parties that can be done at your school. The charity is based in Northwest Arkansas. Having experience firsthand a funnel party, it is amazing what they can do to provide meals at such a low cost while the students involved have a great time participating in this worthy cause.
Remember in AASC, we have an incentive program toward gold/silver status. For those schools that donate $500 to $1499 to the Pack Shack, you will receive one point. Donating $1500 - $2499 gets you two points. You will receive three points for donating $2500 or more to the Pack Shack. We accept all donations no matter the amount.
Donations are going to be handled in two ways this year. For those schools that donate $2500 or more, you are to send your money directly to the Pack Shack (1091 E. Lowell Avenue - Cave Springs, AR 72718). In doing so, your school will automatically receive a "Feed the Funnel" party at your school and the packets filled will be distributed in your community. The # for the Pack Shack is 866-386-6354. For any donations less than $2500, checks should be made to AASC and sent to 3408 Lucky Pine Road - Donaldson, AR 71941. We will keep a total of all that money raised and present the Pack Shack with one large check at our national vision conference in 2019 where students from all across the United States will have one large "Feed the Funnel" party at the host school Lake Hamilton High School in Hot Springs. I will keep a record of donations and the packets filled at the conference will be distributed in your area based on the amount of your donation. Students from your school attending the vision conference will be participating in the funnel party.
